MinorsBoth parents must sign the visa application form and add a copy of their passports. If the child is accompanied by only one parent, the written consent of the other parent is required as well as a copy of the child's unabridged birth certificate
Passport Photos2 passport size colour photographs (undamaged and of recent date) Do not staple or damage the photo, background has to be light and plain
PassportPassport must be valid for at least 3 months after leaving Switzerland, Signature page must be signed and filled out, copy of passport and previous Schengen Visa to be submitted with the application
Non South African CitizensCopy of South African Residence permit should be submitted with the application
Flight TicketCopy of return flight ticket or Itinerary
Proof of MeansIf travelling as tourist or visitor - 3 months bank statements. The applicants name must appear on the statements (Cash or bank letters are not accepted)
Employment letterSigned letter of employment / confirmation of school enrolment for students / if self-employed copy of CC or proof of tax number
Proof of Means (Business)If neither company explicitly state that they cover the costs of the applicant, 3 months bank statements must be provided (Cash and bank letters will not be accepted)
Accommodation (tourist)Copy of hotel bookings or tour arrangements in Switzerland covering the whole period of stay
Letter of Invitation (Visitor)Invitation letter from host in Switzerland, duly signed with a copy of the valid Swiss residence permit or Swiss passport
Letter of Invitation (Business)Invitation letter from the inviting company/organisation in Switzerland. The invitation must be signed by an authorized person. It should contain the following information: - full names and surname of the person; passport number of every person who is invited; purpose of visit; date of entry and departure; who will cover the expenses of travelling, accommodation and insurance
Travel/medical/accident insuranceProof of Travel insurance up to a minimum amount of EUR 30,000 valid for the whole trip for medical treatments and repatriation
